Intercomparison between MRI and stereovision/PIV measurements for diagnosis of aorta pathologies
2015
International audience; The objective of the study is to validate the ability of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to perform measurements of deformations and internal flow of an aortic phantom with aneurysm. An in-vitro measurement experimental device to simulate blood flow was developed. It was tested within MRI and within stereovision and particle image velocimetry (PIV) devices. The measurement results are well correlated and can be used to establish a preoperative diagnosis based on computed parietal stresses with a finite element model (FEM).
Contributions to the physical and experimental validation of a simultaneous PET/MRI system dedicated to small animal imaging
2020
Simultaneous PET/MRI is a dynamic research field of both medical and preclinical domains. The ability of integrated systems to acquire the highly complementarity MR morphological and PET functional data in a single examination paves the way to innovative applications. The hereby document presents a series of experimentations dealing with the performance evaluation and the experimental in vivo capacities of such a device. Physical measurements were implemented based on international standards or inspired by articles of reference. The evaluated system consists of a compact SiPM-based PET subsystem fully integrated in a 7 T preclinical MRI based on the dry magnet technology. Experimentations s…
Developement of new techniques of Optimal Control in Quantum Dynamics : from nuclear magnetic resonance to molecular physics
2011
The goal of this thesis is to apply the optimal control theory to the dynamics of quantum systems. The first part aim at introducing the tools of optimal control in quantum control which were initially developedin mathematics. This approch has been applied on different kinds of quantum system with small and largedimensions. The first part of this manuscript introduces the optimal control tools which are used with a pointof view suited to a public of physicists. In the second part these techniques are used to control the dynamics ofspins in NMR and MRI. The third part deals with the development of new iterative algorithms applied to thecontrol by laser fields of the rotational dynamics of lin…
Salt release and perception in model cheeses are influenced by salt/fat contents, microstructure and salt mobility
2013
Introduction and objectivesThe health authorities recommend a reduction in salt (NaCl) and fat contents of foodstuff. Reducing such components without affecting acceptability is a major challenge, particularly because of the interactions with other ingredients such as aroma compounds. This study consisted in a multimodal approach to understand the effect of changes in composition of model cheeses on the mobility and release of sodium chloride, masticatory behaviour and saltiness perception.MethodologySix model cheeses have been formulated (three fat/protein contents, two NaCl contents). The rheological properties were analysed using uniaxial compression tests. Microstructure and homogeneity…
